The Misamis Oriental Brigada Eskwela 2017 Team didn’t go home unless every nail was entrenched to complete the rehabilitation of Libertad Elementary School in Libertad town was done within the day.
The team, headed by Governor Bambi Emano, was determined to fix every broken ceiling, doors, walls, among others, of the school to ultimately prepare it for the opening of classes this June and that the students would have comfortable and conducive facilities to use.
Governor Emano said he was moved upon seeing that the school really need complete repair, prompting him to request the team to finish the rehabilitation before going home. The team is composed of all the department heads of the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental.
“It is good that we have with us our department heads for us to easily decide what should be done to the needs of the school. It even braved me to purchase on credit some construction materials from a hardware store in Libertad to immediately address the rehabilitation of the six classrooms, etcetera,” Governor Emano said.
Dr. Benjamin Resma, Provincial Agriculture Office head, said he thought they were there only to “wipe or broom and clean some classrooms, but we did not expect that we will apply our skills in carpentry today,” Dr. Resma said.
The governor instantly approved the school’s request for budget for the construction of a perimeter fence.
