The Misamis Oriental Provincial Council for Organic Agriculture Farming (PCOAF) enjoins officials from the local government units in 23 municipalities and two cities in the province to ensure successful implementation of organic agriculture programs.
Bryan M. Apatan, information officer, Provincial Agriculture Office, said a meeting with local government unit (LGU) officials, representatives from the PCOAF and the Department of Agriculture in Region 10 was set on May 19 in Cagayan de Oro, purposely to strengthen and reorganize the Provincial Local Technical Committee as the policy-making body on organic agriculture in Misamis Oriental.
Apatan said it is one of the strategies identified by the Provincial Government for a smooth implementation of the program on organic agriculture as mandated by Republic Act 10068, otherwise known as, “An act providing for the development and promotion of organic agriculture in the Philippines and for other purposes.”
Governor Bambi Emano has issued an Executive Order for the reorganization of the PCOAF, Apatan added.
