Ozamiz City National Highschool kicked off its annual Brigada Eskwela and Summer Reading Camp on Monday at Laurel Street, Lam-an Ozamiz City to prepare for the opening of classes in June.
With the theme, Isang DepEd, Isang Pamayanan, Isang Bayanihan Para sa Handa at Ligtas na Paaralan,” Brigada Eskwela is a week filled with activities spearheaded by Department of Education (DepEd) for parents and community members to help prepare learning environment to students for the upcoming school year.
The National High school of Ozamiz City conducted Cleaning, Painting, Hair Cut, Eye Check-up, Skin Care Lecture, Dental Check-up, Smart Lecture ( Media Literacy Orientation), Vitamins Sampling, Disaster Lecture, Tree Planting, Health issues (Deworming and Immunization ). Teachers, students, and parents take part in cleaning their schools to make facilities ready for the start of classes.
According to Jessiemier U. Tumala, DepEd coordinator of Brigada Eskwela, this was made to maximize the students time on their first week of classes.
Brigada Eskwela aims to engage all education stakeholders to contribute their time, effort and resources in ensuring that public school facilities are prepared in time for the school opening.
