The Coast Guard District Northern Mindanao (CGDNM) has celebrated its 18th founding anniversary on May at Buffalo Resto Grill here.
With the theme, “Serbisyong Totoo, ambag natin sa Pagbabago,” CGDNM emphasized the value and importance of the true public service not just for the coast guardians but for all the government workers and employees.
In his speech, Engr. Marc Anthony P. Pascua, director of MARINA -10, reminded the coast guardians about the agency’s mission and vision which is to “help the maritime industry authority.”
But Pascua added that the coast guardians cannot do all these things by themselves. They need the help and support of all the stakeholders and companies and the partner agencies such as the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to realize all these things.
“A coast guard cannot do, na sila sila lang. Kailangan ng tulong ng bawat isa at angkop na angkop ang pagbabago kung tayo’y magbibigay ng tamang serbisyo sa atin pong mga constituents…,” he said.
Moreover, Pascua reminded the coast guardians that it takes a passion and a heart without hesitation to do the true public service.
“Indeed,…in a public service…it’s a passion to keeping your heart without hesitation. Without hesitation, everybody who needs our help, we should respond in accordance to our mandate,” he said.
The program was concluded by the singing of the Coast Guardian March by the participants.
