Capitol environment dept campaigns anew on proper waste disposal

Misamis Oriental’s Environment and Natural Resources Office (ENRO) continues its campaign on proper waste disposal, conducting information drive inside and outside the Capitol.
Per Memorandum Order JLM No. 2017-468A, all department heads are directed to dispose of their segregated wastes at the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) situated at the Motorpool on the following schedules: Monday to Friday, 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for the non-biodegradable: plastic cans, foil, Styrofoam, bottles, rubber, and paper. For the non-degradable such as fruits and vegetables peels, wet paper and tissue, will be on Tuesdays and Fridays at 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Non-segregated wastes are not accepted in the MRF, the memorandum warned.
Governor Bambi Emano is strict in observing proper waste disposal to continue the legacy of the Provincial Government as a recipient of the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) as awarded by the Department of Interior and Local Government.
Environmental management is part of the DILG’s requirements for such award given by the Interior and Local Government department to deserving aspiring local government units.
