Kuratong Baleleng member neutralized in police operations

Government forces have neutralized one of the members of the Kuratong Baleleng / Dragon Group in police operations in Ozamiz City.

Ozamiz City police station (CPS), led by police inspector Agustin G. Arazo, chief intelligence, Investigation Section under the supervision of police chief inspector Jovie R Espenido, officer in-charge, Ozamis CPS armed with Search Warrant No. 17-10 for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Illegal Possession of Firearms issued and signed by Exec. Judge Edmundo Pintac of Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 15, 10th Judicial Region Ozamiz City against Anthony Theodore Z. Tamparong.

 

The searching team coordinated with the barangay officials at the said place for serving a search warrant against Tamparong, a reserved army first lieutenant of 903rd CDC, Camp Dominguez in Sinacaban town, Misamis Occidental and member of Kuratong Baleleng/Dragon Group at his residence in Purok-9, Barangay Carmen Annex, Ozamiz City.

The team arrived at the said place and went directly to the house of the respondent together with the barangay officials.

 

During the execution of search warrant, the suspect ran and retrieved his calibre .45 pistol from his bedroom and fired upon at the arresting Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel. The police officers prompted to return fire that resulted to the death of the suspect.

 

Recovered from the suspect’s possession and control was one Cal. 45 pistol M1911A1 US Army bearing serial number 201673 loaded with six pieces of live ammos.

 

Also recovered at the crime scene were four pieces empty shells of cal 9mm, one piece empty shell of cal .45, one piece steel ammo box color green place beside the bed containing three pieces misfired ammo of cal 5.56mm, 16 pieces live ammo for cal 5.56mm, one piece live ammo for cal .380, one piece M203 grenade / explosive (40mm) practice M781, several identifications (IDs), handcuffs, bayonet scabbard, military compass and three pieces ammos box containing 150 pieces empty shells of cal 45 pistol.

 

All recovered evidences were brought to the PNP Provincial Crime Laboratory for ballistics examination and custody.
