More than 20,000 businesses filed for business permit renewal on 2016 as reported by the Business Permits and Licensing Division (BPLD) of the City Mayor’s Office.
BPLD Chief Vivian Sabuga-a said that her office was able to issue 20,999 business permits in 2016.
In line with this, Sabuga-a urges businesspersons in Cagayan de Oro to take advantage of the extension of business permit renewal.
The city council has extended the deadline of business permit renewal from Jan. 20 to Feb. 28 this year due to the urban flooding last Jan.16 that affected the operations of the businesses.
Based on the law on business permit renewal, businesses will incur 25 percent surcharge and 2 percent penalty for every month after the deadline that they’ll fail to renew their permits.(IAF-CIO/PIA10)
