Police exec deploys search, rescue team as flooding hit anew

Northern Mindanao police chief issued orders on Jan. 28 morning for the deployment of Philippine National Police (PNP) search and rescue contingent as flooding hit again Cagayan de Oro City for precautionary measures and assist local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LDRRMOs) on preemptive evacuation as well as managing traffic.

“We have deployed police personnel on key areas to direct traffic, help stranded motorists and provide assistance to the public,” NorMin police regional director PCSupt Agripino Javier said.

Agripino added that its search and rescue personnel and four 10-wheeler trucks are already deployed to help in the evacuation.

NorMin regional spokesperson PSupt Surki Sereñas said, “With the continuous rain still looming, PCSut Javier has given the order to all police units in Cagayan de Oro City and Misamis Oriental to stap alert and ready for emergency response. (PIO, PRO10)
