Licensing System (BPLS) automated and ready to be connected to the Philippine Business Registry (PBR) system.
This was validated during a BPLS Computerization Conference spearheaded by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in coordination with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) held at Negosyo Center Training Room of DTI Provincial Office in Iligan City.
The conference was conducted for the three LGUs of the province which include Linamon, Lala and Kapatagan, including Iligan City. These LGUs are the first LGUs to be BPLS streamlined and now potential and viable to be connected to PBR system.
The discussion was focused on sharing BPLS experiences as well as the Enhanced Tax Revenue Assessment & Collection System (ETRACS) which these LGUs are using.
DTI Iligan representative Elizabeth Buna also discussed on the PBR requirements for LGU to be connected to the system and the 2014 Results of Customer Satisfaction Survey, BPLS Updates and Milestones.
She meanwhile said that it is a great challenge for Iligan City to improve and increase its competitiveness ranking. However, she said Iligan is booming.
It was emphasized during the conference that computerization is the second component of BPLS Streamlining Reform Program following the simplification and standardization of BPLS process for new registration and renewals.
Under Joint Circular Memorandum (JMC 01 s. 2016) among DTI, DILG and Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT), the end goal of this joint endeavor, is an online system of registration for the country. (Minda M. Usman, STIDS/DTI-LDN/ PIA-10 LDN)
