Twelve chiefs of police across northern Mindanao were relieved on September 5 from their posts for failing to keep up with the expected performance demand of Project “Double Barrel” or the campaign against illegal drugs of the Philippine National Police.
NorMin Police Regional Director PCSupt Noel Constantino announced Monday that the chiefs of police of Cabanglasan and Kalilangan towns in Bukidnon; Villanueva, Magsaysay and Lagonglong in Misamis Oriental; Jimenez, Concepcion and Don Victoriano Chiongbian in Misamis Occidental; Pantar and Tangcal in Lanao del Norte; and Station 3 in Iligan City were relieved effective September 5, 2016.
“They will be replaced and will serve the provincial police office (PPO) or city police office (CPO) as staff officers for not less than one year probation period,” PCSupt Constantino said.
The relief came after two months of performance assessment, report evaluation, validation, consultation and recommendation from the Project “Double Barrel” Oversight Committee.
“They were evaluated as to their performance output including drug personality list generation, household visitations, search warrants implemented, arrest warrants served, filing of drug cases in court and other police operations conducted. Unfortunately, they were at the bottom and so we need to replace them to give way to officers who have the drive to perform better,” said Constantino.
PRO 10 spokesperson Supt Surki Sereñas also revealed that the reshuffling of provincial and city directors is also expected at the end of September. (PIO PRO10)
